Superman (Christopher Reeves) fights evil in the name of Truth, Justice, and the American Way. From the destroyed planet Krypton, he derives his powers from Earths yellow sun making him stronger, faster, and more powerful then any man on Earth. Now Superman must face his greatest challenge, fellow Kryptonians exiled from their home planet for their evil ways that have found their way to Earth. Now they too have super powers equal to Superman's, and are bent on ruling the world. Can Superman defeat the evil General Zod and his forces, or will Superman be forced to kneel before General Zod?
